This work is rooted in listening, learning, challenging systems of harm, and helping build spaces where people are treated with respect across race, culture, language, background, and lived experience.
We believe people are not problems to be managed. People are neighbors.

Our Approach
Grassroots Westmoreland approaches racial justice and belonging as ongoing community work, not a one-time statement.
We seek to listen before assuming, learn before speaking over others, and respond to harm without pretending that good intentions are enough.
This work includes paying attention to whose voices are heard, who has access, who is left out, and how community systems can either protect dignity or deepen harm.
We are committed to building spaces where people are treated as neighbors, not problems.
Belonging in Practice
Belonging means more than being invited into a room.
It means people are treated with respect, language is accessible, access needs are taken seriously, harm is not dismissed, and community care does not depend on someone being easy to understand, easy to serve, or easy to categorize.
Grassroots Westmoreland works toward spaces where people can show up with dignity, ask for support without shame, and be recognized as part of the community.
